ESGR understands the unique talents and skill set Guard and Reserve Service members can bring to the civilian workforce. To make this arrangement work, both parties must be aware of their rights and responsibilities under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
Welcome to the Iowa ESGR. Our Iowa team is comprised of approximately 110 dedicated volunteers and 3 full-time staff that is prepared to engage, inform, and support employers and reserve component members throughout the state. Iowa has a proud history of outstanding employer support for our reserve component members and today's team continues that tradition through a strong emphasis on “prevention through education”. Our Iowa team places continuous effort on our military and employer outreach programs to ensure that all stakeholders know and understand their respective obligations under the USERRA law.
The Iowa team has found that a focus on visibility and awareness of what Iowa ESGR has to offer is a key element of our prevention approach. "We are a resource" is at the core of our message to our Iowa employers and reserve component members.
We welcome you to explore our website and invite you to contact us should you have any questions. Our mission is to assist both employers and reserve component members equally. We also welcome anyone interested in volunteering with the Iowa ESGR.
