Bonus and Student Loan Repayment FAQ
Question: When will I get paid my bonus?
Answer: Review your contract for the payment
schedule. Talk to your unit administrator to ensure all documentation
required was forwarded to state headquarters. In most cases payment should
be in soldiers account within 30-days after all documentation is processed
into the personnel system.
Question: How do I get paid my bonus, is it a
check to me?
Answer: Bonus payments are made through the
military pay system. As long as the soldier has a direct deposit established
in the pay system the money will be sent to that designated account. Bonus
payments can be on separate Leave and Earning Statements (LES) or on the same LES as a normal drill
performance. Individuals may review LES's on their "MYPAY" account online.
Question: I have completed IADT but have not
been paid my initial enlistment bonus?
Answer: Contact your unit of assignment to
ensure all documentation is received and sent to state headquarters to bring
you back from training status. The unit administrator may fax required
documents to this office to expedite the process. Documents normally lacking
in the system are the DD214, Duty MOSQ order, and high school diploma or
equivalent.
Question: I contracted for student loan
repayment program (SLRP) but have not received any payments?
Answer: It is the soldiers responsibility to
maintain good lender status on his/her loans and to request annual payment.
Work with your unit of assignment to submit annual application for repayment
DD form 2475.
Question: I paid on my loans out of my own
pocket. Can I get reimbursed by the guard?
Answer: NO. Payments are only made to the soldier's lending institution on outstanding principle
balance.
