Basic Combat Training is designed to prepare our warriors for every aspect of military life and indoctrinate them into Army culture. The training you will receive will give you the tools necessary to perform your role as a soldier throughout the duration of your service with us. Be warned: Basic training is an intense and extremely challenging experience; however the training is NOT designed to “break” our warriors. The physical, mental, and emotional challenges you will face along with the field exercises and classroom training will strengthen you physically and mentally.
Our warriors attend drill one weekend per month after becoming a member and before they depart for basic combat training. They are paid for their time, and receive training designed to prepare them for basic training.
A large percentage of our warriors join the National Guard while they are still attending high school either as Juniors or Seniors. We offer additional flexibility to our high school students so that they don't have to choose between service in the National Guard and participation in extracurricular activities.
We offer a split training option which allows our warriors to attend basic training between their junior and senior year and then complete their advanced individual training (MOS training) after they graduate.
The Army wants every warrior to be physically and mentally tough. Basic training is designed help our warriors meet the Army's rigid standards. The training you will receive is divided into three distinct phases.RED PHASE
