SIOUX CITY READINESS CENTER REDEDICATION CEREMONY SCHEDULED

A community rededication ceremony and open house commemorating the completion of renovations and expansion of the Iowa Army National Guard Readiness Center, 3200 2nd Mech. Drive, Sioux City, Iowa, has been scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25. Brig. Gen. Mark Zirkelbach, Deputy Adjutant General, Iowa Army National Guard will officiate the ceremony.
The public and media are welcome and encouraged to attend this ceremony and open house.
Originally constructed in 1970 at a cost of approximately $315,000, the facility is home to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry; Detatchment 1, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Brigade Special Troops Battalion; and Company D, 334th Brigade Support Battalion.
The $760,000 renovation and expansion project includes an approximately 4,560-square foot addition that added locker space, a unit supply area, and storage space. The project also upgraded the building’s heating and electrical systems, installed new windows, and provided for new ceiling tiles, floors and doors within the Readiness Center.
The renovations were designed by the Sioux City office of FEH Associates, Inc., with mechanical and electrical design by Ulteig Engineering, Sioux Falls, S.D. Construction was by Fauss Construction, Inc., Hooper, Neb.
