Want to get a first-hand of the Joint Forces Headquarters - JFHQ (State Area Command - STARC) Armory, Camp
Dodge, our people, and equipment? The Iowa National Guard public affairs office offers
tours to organized civilian groups. Visitors must provide their own transportation. Tours
will normally begin at the JFHQ(STARC) Armory and should be limited to about 50 people. Special
accommodations may be made. We can provide tours to individuals and family groups. Usual
tours can consist of walking tours of the JFHQ(STARC) Armory headquarters with the unit armory
facilities, State of Iowa emergency operations center, Department of Public Safety
communications center, and Iowa Communications Network operations center. Other tours
available a walking tour of the National Maintenance
Training Center , a visit to the Iowa Gold Star Museum indoor and outdoor displays , and a windshield tour of the Camp Dodge
facilities. The armory and maintenance center tours are one to one and one-half hours
long. The museum is normally one hour in length, and the windshield tour is one-half hour.
