Remount Station - Interactive Mapping
The Remount Station consisted of more than 80 buildings and was capable of handling more than 10,000 head of stock, horses and mules, in stables and sheds. The Incinerator was also located here near the river on the southeast corner of the Remount Station. Burnable waste would be picked up in the cantonment and taken to the incinerator site via rail cars with the Remount Station spur, where it would be dropped and burned. The Horse Dip Tank was also located on the south side of the Remount Station. Here horses and other livestock would walk through disinfectant chemicals in the long concrete trough to be cleaned.
