The 2nd BCT be prepared to deploy worldwide, conduct combat operations, and win, while caring for soldiers and families.
The first and most important thing everyone must believe is that this brigade exists to defend our nation, and its way of life. In order to accomplish this mission the people of this nation have given us their most valuable resource, their sons and daughters. It is our obligation and duty to ensure they are trained, disciplined, mentored, treated with dignity, respect, and in return these young soldiers provide this country with the most effective defense or deterrent available.
We are about creating and sustaining good military units and organizations. It is the cornerstone of everything we do. Units are good because the people in them believe they are in a good outfit, and that their unit cares about them as well as the mission. This pride is fueled by accomplishment and achievement. My sense is that people also believe they are in a good outfit when they share in a positive command climate. This climate is mostly achieved because of a shared belief in the importance of treating one another well.
